Welcome to the homepage of the Symmetric Techniques Virtual Lab (STVL)
of the
ECRYPT Network of
Excellence in
Cryptology. The Symmetric Techniques Virtual Lab focuses on all aspects
of the
development, analysis, and deployment of symmetric cryptographic
techniques. More particularly this virtual lab aims to co-ordinate and
facilitate research in the following areas.
- Block cipher primitives
- Stream cipher primitives
- Message authentication code primitives
- Hash function primitives
- Modes of operation and the use of symmetric cryptographic
primitives
- Symmetric techniques and their theoretical foundations,
including
issues such as pseudo-random functions
The Symmetric Techniques Virtual Lab is organised into four
working groups.
